New year’s resolutions are made every year. Sadly I
have heard too many Pastors condemn the idea…and I do not know why? Making a
decision to change something in your life is NEVER bad…the question that needs to be
asked and discussed is…HOW?
I have made the mistake of believing if I could just change my
circumstances, everything would be better! Then I matured and believed if I
could just “muscle” my way into change, that would work. Failure again! Did you
know the average New Year’s resolution lasts 13-19 days?
1 Corinthians 9:23–27 I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings. Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
STOP seeking for a New Year…Seek for a New You! If you do not know Jesus
personally, ask Him to show you the way! Write me and I will help you. If you
know the Lord but feel “Stuck” ask Him what you need to yield to Him! Again if you desire some
counsel, write me. 2019 can be a great year, but it will not happen with new
circumstances…it will happen with a New You!
