I am in the midst of a situation right now that has really brought me into a very dark and difficult time! In the midst of this I began writing to myself, and now am past 100 pages. A statement I made has been resonating in my through this entire time. I wrote this: “ I have seen a major change in my thinking during this time. I was saying; This took me by surprise, I did not see this coming! Now my thinking is, I was not alert and looking for this!” How humbling…after living this long, teaching this, discipling others to walk this way…I missed it!
The wonderful Truth about this is that my Lord and Master did not miss it! He is here; He is ready and willing to guide me through this! I am only a prayer away, and Scriptures are right here to study and meditate over!
Ephesians 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints
Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;
1 Thessalonians 5:6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.
1 Peter 5:8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
1 Corinthians 10:11–13 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
What I am enjoying is that I am not giving into the darkness or the discouragement! I have chosen to take God at His Word! My devos and times in prayer are so rich! I am looking forward to graduating from this school of trials! Hopefully I will come forth as one armed for the future!
Acts 20:29–31 “I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. “Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.
The So What: We should not live in fear, always looking behind us but we should remain aware of our surroundings. When was the last time you walked into a sin? Why do you think that happened? Name some ways to remain alert to the enemy?
