Scripture Read: Rom 6:19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
Application: In our desire to be set apart for God and to live toward Him – even though we know the lion share of the work is from Him – we have to take seriously our part. The word states God’s part – But it is not all on Him …
Sanctification - ἁγιασμός hagiasmós - Hagiasmós refers not only to the activity of the Holy Spirit in setting man apart unto salvation and transferring him into the ranks of the redeemed, but also to enabling him to be holy even as God is holy[1]
Notice what is our part in this – the Presentation! Yes the real work is God’s but we must present ourselves. We have to face the fact that especially in the beginning it will be a conscious presentation. The longer we train our flesh to submit to our new man the easier it will become. The difficulty is that when we were in the flesh we usually presented ourselves to sin in an unconscious state – we just did what came natural – that is our goal in the other direction now. To live Holy will happen only after habitual conscious presentation to do what is right, then it will become second nature.
