How should we deal with an evil age?
Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle (not sent from men nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead), and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forevermore.
I am hoping to help all of us to consider how we should live when the environment we are in is intrinsically evil.
Paul lived at a terrible time on this earth.
Paul challenges our thinking, which is essential to getting a handle of how we deal with being in an environment of evil.
“Sent not by men” - this is so important to keep in focus. We are hereby Christ’s Sovereign will it is Jesus that has placed us where we are. Yes, we have accountabilities to earthly domains; however, our call is given by the one who holds all those earthly domains in the palm of His hand! This will produce the endurance we will need to finish well!
This is why Paul makes it clear that something more than human power drives him.
“ Through Jesus Christ and God the Father” – Instead of being stuck on trying to figure out the Trinity, which will always amaze me. We should get excited that we are not on our own we are joined by Three persons in One God!
The So What! Do you sense the evil around you? How does it affect you? What are you doing about that? Do you have a community that you are connected to that is in this with you?
